The last couple of weeks have been pretty intense energetically and emotionally. People have been talking about Super Moons, Eclipse Cycles and other Astrological stuff.
I don’t follow this topic too closely. But I do know that since we are all connected, we will feel these energetic shifts happening throughout our world.
If you too have been feeling some overwhelming energies, allow yourself to at least relax knowing that you were not the only one. I noticed that I was more tired and needed more sleep than usual. Some days, it seemed that I could not drink enough water. On Sunday, I had a lot of old fears show up in my dreams. And then, on Tuesday, I woke up feeling like a completely new person. I felt lighter. Everything around me felt brighter. I was feeling inspired again.
Much of the energetic intensity we feel is just more energy than we’re used to flowing through to help us expand into our Soul Selves. As we expand, all the lower frequency energies and patterns that no longer serve us get released. As they are released, we experience them. It’s a double whammy!
When the intensity is too great, it reminds us of times as kids when life felt too overwhelming and out of control. We can freak out and run for what’s familiar, limiting our opportunity for growth.
The key things to remember when we’re going through these kinds of experiences is to be gentle with ourselves and to stay present to what is. The intensity can make us feel unsafe. From this place of fear, it can be so easy to beat ourselves up, get into self-judgment, and then run off and hide.
But if you really want to expand beyond the old ways, you will need to learn a new way to feel safe when responding to life’s surprises. One way I highly recommend is to be present to ourselves with compassion. We can acknowledge what we’re feeling and observe without needing to fix it. Be with it. Breathe deeply into it.
[Wherever you are now, I encourage you to just take a couple moments to breathe deeply.]
What you’ll find after breathing deeply while being present to the current circumstance is that you can actually feel more relaxed without changing the circumstance. You don’t need life to change to feel safe and better. This is incredibly empowering.
Breathing and being with our challenges helps us stay connected to ourselves. It can remind you that it’s safe to be in your body. And that it’s safe to be you.
Whatever you may be going through in your life now, I invite you to stay present with yourself and breathe. Show yourself that you have much more control over how you feel than you thought before. It’s very possible for you to start feeling safe regardless of the most circumstances.
With Much Love,
